Planning an indoor activity for a wet Melbourne day
Rain increases demand for indoor venues. A good wet-weather plan starts with a dated booking rather than an assumption that walk-in space will remain available.
Check the entry mechanics
Look for timed sessions, online waivers, required grip socks and adult tickets. LEGOLAND Discovery Centre recommends timed pre-booking because capacity is limited. Kidz Playzone accepts walk-ins but requires a waiver and socks in the play area.
Match the space to the child
A busy trampoline or climbing centre can feel very different from a museum gallery or play café. Check whether toddlers have a separated zone and whether a parent needs to participate. If noise or crowds are a concern, ask about quiet times or sensory sessions before paying.
Plan food and breaks
An onsite café does not necessarily allow food inside play zones, and outside food may be restricted. Check the venue’s current policy, allergy information and whether your session allows re-entry. Bring only what the operator permits.
Keep a second option nearby and check live opening information before departure; construction, private events and capacity limits can change which areas are available.
