THE PRACTICAL GUIDES

How to compare children’s birthday party packages

The headline package price is only useful after you know how many children and adults it covers. Compare the same guest count and include every compulsory add-on.

Write down the complete guest rule

Check minimum and maximum numbers, adult-to-child ratios, whether supervising adults are included and what happens when the final RSVP changes. Clip ’n Climb Williamstown publishes a minimum of 12 party children. Melbourne Zoo separates the included child group from additional adult admission.

Separate activity time from room time

A two-hour package may divide time between the activity and a party room. Confirm arrival, briefing, food, cake and departure times. Ask whether the room is private while the activity area remains open to the public.

Check food and cake rules

Confirm the children’s menu, allergy process, adult catering, outside-food policy and whether the venue cuts or stores a cake. Some attractions do not allow outside cake, while farms may allow BYO catering in a hired space.

Read the cancellation terms

Deposits, final-number deadlines and transfer conditions matter when children get sick. Save the package page and confirmation you actually booked; directory prices are a research starting point, not a quote.
